Full of information about the many pubs known to have existed in Biggleswade. Much of the information dates back to 1876 (the licensing return), and earlier records go back to the 16th century, though the information is sparse.
Each pub gets a description and its origins and particularly the names of the pub owners and licensees with dates.
About 75 pubs are covered in the book, some with plenty of information, others may be just a line depending whether the information available is short or plentiful. There is a handy sketch map locating the listed pubs and the pubs are arranged in the booklet by roads or streets.
Supporting information are the Licensing List of 1876, the current and former brewers operated in Biggleswade and an index of all the pubs which identifies those pubs trading in 2000.
Full of b&w photos of the pubs, their people from 1900 to 2000.
