"The Comprehensive Guide to the City's Pubs and Bars" - just launched at the SIBA Great Northern Beer Festival, October 2011.The focus of this guide is on the pubs and bars selling real ale and these are arranged into 7 city centre areas plus 2 of the south Manchester suburbs. Each area starts with an introduction and a good colour detailed map identifying the particular pubs, then each pub gets the salient information and a full description and a photo (for many of the pubs), additionally at the end of each area section there's a list of other pubs & bars which were not selling real ale. Interspersed within the pub entries are "Inn Sights" which add snippetts of interest in the areas to take ones eyes from just looking at the beer. The suburban areas featured in the guide are Chorlton-cum-Hardy and Wilmslow Road. Plenty of supporting information around the descriptions of the pubs and at the end is an index of all the pubs in the guide serving real ale.
