The June-July 2009 cover story is on beer in Japan with an illuminating explanation of Japanese beer categories and beer trends both in the industry and in beer styles. A bit nearer home Het Anker brewery and the Mi-Orge Mi-Houblon craft beer shop in Belgium both get visits. In the Mediterranean the beer scene in Italy and Spain is assessed by Adrian Tierney-Jones. In the UK there are articles on Harviestoun brewery in Scotland and the beers and breweries in Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire. Melissa Cole looks at why women don't drink more beer, there are some thoughts on what food goes with Kolsch bier while Roger Protz looks at nearby Alt bier. An interesting article on the introduction of, dare I say it, "nitrogen" into British beer, and a whistle stop report from the beer lover's paradise of Chicago.
NB, The remaining copy of this Issue is an ex display copy which may have been handled by potential customers and may not be in pristine condition as a stock copy would be.
