This gazetteer of brewery history from the Brewery History Society lists in alphabetical place order all the breweries known to have existed in Oxfordshire. The breweries in the large towns of Abingdon and Wallingford which were once in Oxfordshire but are now encompassed by Berkshire are not included – they will feature in a future BHS volume on Berkshire brewery history. Brief brewery histories of many well known names such as Brakspears, Garne’s, Halls, Hook Norton, Hunt Edmunds, Morrells are included as are those of other lesser known breweries.
