This book, the outcome of a local history research project,records in words and illustration the history of 4 local breweries around Swadlincote in the former industrial area of South Derbyshire. The breweries are Brunt & Bucknall’s, Acreford, Beards Gresley Brewery and the unusually titled Wooden Box Brewery. The book is copiously illustrated with old photos, plans, sale notices and some labels. The associated pubs are not ignored with details of ownership, stories and photos.
